Telehealth counseling

Blue Sky Telehealth Counseling

Due to recent events and increasing concerns about COVID19 (aka Novel Coronavirus), Blue Sky now offers telehealth counseling sessions as an alternative to in-office Omaha therapy sessions.

You are welcome to continue coming into the office for face-to-face appointments. I will be in the office unless advised otherwise by the local public health department or the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

I fully embrace whatever decision you make regarding your sessions.  It is encouraged that you balance the information received from the CDC with your own intuition and understand your unique health needs and the needs of your loved ones.

It is my understanding that some insurance companies are making allowances for telehealth visits and will be reimbursing their insureds at the same rate they would for an in-office licensed therapist visit.  Please check with your insurance provider by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your card to confirm this for your specific policy.

There is no right or wrong way to feel about the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you have a low level of concern, you are not under-reacting, and if you are concerned and taking precautions or canceling travel, you are not overreacting or paranoid.  If at any point between sessions you notice a level of fear or anxiety that is concerning to you or difficult to manage, please reach out by text, email or phone.

Whether this pandemic continues to escalate or tapers off quickly, to me it is a reminder that no matter how divided we may seem based on politics or social identities or how isolated and lonely we may feel, we remain profoundly and intricately connected to each other by the air we breathe and the planet we share.

As always, be kind and gentle with yourself and others.

Don’t hesitate, if you or someone you know is in need of substance abuse counseling in Omaha or mental health services in Omaha, contact Blue Sky Counseling Omaha to schedule a consultation.
